No home air purifiers really work?

Do they seem to cause air to breathe better and get some air pollutants? I was thinking get a HEPA filter in one.

Tests by organizations such as Consumer Reports say that the ionic type do little or nothing, but the HEPA filter type can be effective. We used and we have friends whose children have respiratory disease and that one. We agree that they are useful for improving indoor air quality.
