I am writing this article because I just read an article about the benefits of evaporative coolers buy Champion (some call these coolers swamp). The author mentions that are good quality, cost effective and long lasting. All this is true. But then I thought, how a man who has written hundreds of articles lawn care about interior decoration and exterior to know why are quality units? I installed and maintained for years and I can tell why that are quality and long lasting. These are just some of the reasons I recommend Champion.
Air Cooler with CELdek Media
All ultracool Champion and Mastercool units use the media instead of pills CELdek common use Aspen. Aspen pads are made of wood from trees poplar shaving closed in a plastic mesh gauze. These pills are usually only about an inch thick. The media is a material CELdek cellulose cardboard engineering blocks shaped honeycomb. Most Mastercool ultracool and models have a choice of 8 inches or 12 centimeters thick CELdek media. Air passing through 12 inches of the media absorbs more water than the air passing through the 1 inch media. More water absorbed in the air means cooler air blowing in your room. I once worked in a job that had a fridge with the CELdek media by side with Aspen pads. With the thermometer measuring 5 degrees cooler air of the unit CELdek media. I've also found the media in general, CELdek lasted at least 5 years, while Aspen pads should be changed at least once a year. Since that most fear the maintenance work goes 5 years between the media change is a real advantage. Some units have oxidized Aspen platform and had to be changed for 5 years.

Champion uses several strategies to help their refrigerators evaporative recent years more than other brands.
