Car Idles very near when heated?
I have a 1993 Ford Escort I bought used a few months ago. I had a couple of months when it began to "chug" when idling. At first it was only when I left the car idling for a very long time. Now is when the engine is hot. If I let it idle in a light, for example, to death Chug. We took the mass airflow sensor and cleaned with electronic parts cleaner, to no effect. We have also replaced the air filter and spray the intake manifold with carb cleaner. Any suggestions?
Spark plugs may be fouled and need replacing. A cheap if that's the case. Did you ever give an air of complete security when the car? Do you know how well the previous owner kept it? Also, you may you have some very cheap gas to be diluted. Try running the tank empty and then put in some Shell / Exxon / Sunoco gas and see if that helps.
