The systems today advanced wound care products include a variety of amorphous hydrogel. The amorphous hydrogel therapy is gaining wide acceptance in the medical community as an effective wound care treatment of exuding wounds. This type of treatment for wound care, creates an ideal environment and healing can accelerate the healing of the wounds are still persistent.
Amorphous Hydrogel is a topical application for discharge (weeping / oozing) wounds. There are two main advantages of using an amorphous hydrogel wound care:
1) Ease of dealing with wounds deeper or uneven cuts and scratches may be particularly difficult to treat. These wounds are often uneven borders can be irregular, and the wound as a whole may be deeper and more irregular in places, shallower and softer in others. Its effectiveness can be improved further when combined with an amorphous hydrogel hydrocolloid dressing. Hydrocolloid dressings, such as extra thin Duoderm, Convatec Aquacel and others contain gel-forming agents, typically composed of sodium carboxymethylcellulose and gelatin. This substance is very fluid retention and absorption of about four times the gauze swab. Care Dressings wound as these can take much longer than gauze dressings.
Products for wound care as Convatec Aquacel have the added advantage that contain ionic silver. Ionic silver has potent antimicrobial properties. The inclusion on the wound care dressing Aquacel Convatec not affect the ability of hydrocolloids to absorb the liquid. It also helps remove bacteria and other microbes that may come into contact with the wound area and protect the wound, reduced risk of infection.
Amorphous hydrogel dressings can be used with care for many of the wound. Combined with a hydrocolloid dressing essentially creates two barriers to protect a wound instead of one, further reducing the risk of contamination or infection.
Products such as Duoderm extra thin to do more than add that extra layer of protection. Duoderm extra thin, is slimmer than many other dressings. This makes it ideal for use in areas the body that are difficult to wear (ie in the area of the arm, behind the knees) and may be subject to a lot of movement and bending.
When using any type of care cures, make sure it is compatible with amorphous hydrogel. The product label should clearly indicate its suitability for use with this type. It is also important to apply the amorphous hydrogel, as directed, and strictly follow the application protocol and the removal and dressing, and the appropriate timetable for change of dressings in order to maximize their ability to heal.
