How do I get rid of the horrible smell of smoke in my house from the chimney?
After thinking that the fire in the fireplace was completely out, we close Average combustion so if the fire began to burn. We left the house for 2 hours and returned to our home completely engulfed in smoke. N our house smells horrible (like a smoky bar). We had an expert from our insurance company said that almost no soot deposited on the walls to the house there is no need painting. How can I get that terrible smell to disappear? I used Fabreez, plug-in air fresheners, scented candles, spray ZEP of smoke odors, clean the inside the fire and used a shop vac to clean the ashes, a HEPA air purifier and have cleaned all surfaces in the house, including cleaning of all draperery. By Please let me know if anyone has any other suggestions.
Try to pour white vinegar in a large bowl and let sit in the middle of the rooms. Be that their situation is much worse, but this takes the smell of cigarette smoke in my house. Of course, the vinegar does not smell very good, but I think it is up to the lesser of two evils.
