Hepa Purifier

Does anyone use a HEPA air purifier for allergies to pet dander? If so please let me know if it really helps.?

I live in a basement apt. and have 3 cats. My nephew lives upstairs and evil cat dander allergies. We have an air purifier in the oven, but it really does not help. Now I'm thinking on getting one for personal use in your room. Does anyone know if this helps? I do not want to get rid of my cats, that is what you are asking me do.Help.

I've had several HEPA filter units in recent years due to my years of round pollen, dust and animal allergies. I had an Austin for 5 years and now have an IQAir HealthPro. The unit is on 24 / 7, at a rate low enough, because I will not be drowned by their side. My home office is also my room so I am in theory, receive the benefits of most of the day. It is difficult to imagine how useful the HEPA filter. Total, I suppose that reduces symptoms of my perhaps 20%. Unfortunately, the effectiveness of the device is reduced each time you open your door and let (fresh) air in I'd say get a HEPA air filter device would be worth trying, but unfortunately I doubt that will really help his nephew. We have two cats (Maine Coon), and have to stay at the other end of the house, behind two doors. Indeed, this seems to work quite well in reducing the amount of cat dander in the rest of the house. But if I go to the house where they live, or escape and run around the house, I can tell. Maybe you can try some things? Keeping cats in several rooms of the house that her nephew will be used and the HEPA filter in your bedroom. Are you using MED antihistamine or nasal spray? Chances are that if you have cat allergies also have other allergies – Dust mites, mold, pollen. There are good over-the-counter med options today – Zyrtec may be the strongest non-sedating option.
