How to clean a hot air intake?
I have a Honeywell Surround heater 360 heat that has been stored during the past year. I have to use it, but is there dust, hair and lint in the air intake at the bottom of the tower. I tried using a blow in vain. The instruction manual says that only need to clean the outside and the heater does not disarm, so I have no idea how to get the hell out of it! Someone please help ….
Try using shopvac with a small vacuum accessory. That will suck the skin of a rhinoceros. If yours does not have a small accessory, I just "borrow" a vacuum of the standard and goal-shopvac tape over the small openings to vacuum. If it still does not work, try setting the fan in the shop vac, air free, and that amount of air pressure might do the trick. If you do not have a shopvac, see if the opening is able to accommodate a Swiffer, type dry cloth on a stick. By Usually, that fit in small areas, and that takes a lot, and the plume remains on the rod, without getting caught. If all else fails, try a plastic rod flexible or even a coat hanger to open a woman's stocking over it, wet and wrung out, and dragged along the area to be cleaned. Next time that you store the thing, put it in a box or bag, or cover.
