Ionic air purifiers and ozone emissions ..?

I want to buy an air purifier. Since HEPA filters are noisey, thinking ionic. found it good ..? Also if you use a HEPA filter please leave a comment on the noise level. Do you find it too disturbing Thanksgiving? Beforehand.

I had the Sharper Image ionic purifier for 3 years. The smell of ozone, it is sometimes recognizable, and not unpleasant, but it is good for breathing. Reports consumers have reviewed the purifier on several occasions and were suspended because the ionic mechanism does not move enough air to filter even a small room. In fact, I saw no difference in the accumulation of dust when I used it. Now I have a small Hunter HEPA filter. The noise is tolerable after a while and There is a substantial and significant decrease in the amount of dust. The disadvantage compared to the ion filter is not cheap (mine about 22 $) and needs to be replaced every 3 months or 6, if you really stretch it.
