"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." – Edmund Burke
If you really wants to destroy the church quickly, here is rule number one: zip your lips when you see something wrong.
Understood? Do not say anything. No talk. It does not refer to your voice. Do not make waves.
But when you see something wrong – when there is sin, when you realize the division, to discern that divides people in the camps, when you hear the whisper of rumor and slander – keep your mouth shut. Just ignore everything and pretend to) all go away by itself, or b) someone will take care him. But you just keep your lips zipped and mind your own business.
Definitely do not take seriously the words of Hebrews 5:14, which command every one to "have their senses trained to discern good and evil." And do not read Galatians 6:1, where Paul clearly says "If you detect any in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness. "
In fact, you should ignore Paul's example entirely, since made a habit of dealing with the churches – the person at the bank's leaders at the top – where it was down the narrow path. Oh – and do not read the first three chapters of Revelation, or they might find Jesus himself, the Alpha and the Omega, asks churches to task for condoning sin, is comfortable to be complacent and put his nose in the air of pride.
Keep quiet and pretend that all is well.
Of course, if you see something wrong and does not want his church to go tubes, then you have to speak. It is a dangerous course – may offend people in power, you could find yourself on the wrong side of a smear campaign, and you could start a little fire in earnest. But if the fire is the Spirit of God, which is a good thing: Even if some people are burned in the purification process.
If you choose to go down that slippery slope, mostly to keep two words in his mind, in your heart and on his lips: the goodness and truth. Proverbs 3:3 is the best advice on this subject has written: "Do not let kindness and truth leave; unite around your neck, write them upon the tablet of your heart."
Without the kindness, the truth is a sword that cuts hard and kills. We've all met people who spoke the truth without love – and left only broken bodies in its wake. But without truth, goodness is nothing but a pat on the head and a common place in the ear. Kindness itself has no iron to make a real difference.
However, the goodness and truth work together … That's where the transformation begins. When bold and humble saints of God, are willing to risk "speaking the truth in love "(Ephesians 4:15), then the Word of God is released to" pierce the extent the division of soul and spirit, joints and marrow " and "judge the thoughts and intents of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12) … and love the sinner gently call home.
